I signed on with a band yesterday! Marksberry (from Cincinnati-ish) is a 10 piece band led by Don Bill (a friend from college, Brent's, dad). They play all sorts of music...40's big band, 50's & 60's rock & roll, 70's, 80's, 90's pop...
I have to admit they're not my greenest choice thus far. If I were to choose music based on its minimal footprintedness (we'll call that a word) it would be a small totally unplugged band with a short distance to travel. The positive to my choice is, however, that they do not require lights and spots and spinning disco balls. From what I understand, they don't have huge amps so hopefully their electrical usage can stay on the low end. (I sure hope they carpool...)
I think this group will do a great job of getting the full spectrum of guests on their feet and moving (not just the under 30 crowd). I'm also happy that we can support a friend's family's business.
